Prolift Handling is thrilled to announce that we are sponsoring Retford United Under 8’s football team. Our main motivation to sponsor the team is our Senior Account Manager Andy Hand, who is also the Chairman of Retford United Football club and a coach for the under 8’s team.

As the Chairman of this Youth sports club, Andy has been doing a great job from the last few years and we would like to show some support for his efforts and dedication in managing the activities at the club while doing a full-time job.

We also believe grassroot football is super crucial, as not only it motivates young kids to play the game and to improve their recreational ability but also helps them in learning life skills like how to organise and plan things in advance, ultimately developing their team-working skills which aid them later on during their college or professional life.

Prolift handling as a company has always believed in encouraging local communities, no matter if it is a local youth sports team or a charity fundraising event we always try to support a good cause. For our staff in the UK and Ireland who is too busy to hit the field, we also organise Fantasy Football competition every year.

About Retford United Football Club:

The club was founded in 1987 by Retfordian Brian Jackson to give the town a senior club along with a juniors section starting from under 10’s. The club’s youth development has been continuous with many professional players starting their journey at RUJFC.
Retford United Junior Football Club is a charter standard grassroots football club. The club has 16 Junior teams ranging from Under7’s to U18’s. The club currently coach in excess of 250 children a week from as young as 4-year-old right through to under 18s. The club has up to 18 boys & girls teams playing in various leagues across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & South Yorkshire. The club welcomes boys & girls of all abilities & the club’s ethos is to generate an atmosphere & environment conducive to young players being able to develop their footballing skills in a fun & uncompetitive manner until such times when they are mature enough to engage in competitive football.

Retford United continuously show their support by helping out with charity work such as the game against All-Star XI, which was a charity game held on boxing day that raised over £20,000 for the Karen Lund Campaign. They also started a petition to place a pavement between Cannon Park and Leverton Road in Retford, which would make the walk to the grounds much safer, showing their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the community.

What Global Lifting Awareness day (GLAD 2020) is about?

GLAD2020 is an initiative to grow awareness about elevating standards throughout the global lifting industry and to end-user markets. The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is inviting its members to take part in the campaign by promoting the day on their social media channels using the hashtag #GLAD2020

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), has listed four key objectives which lifting industry is trying to promote and achieve through this day:

  • Where is the next generation of the workforce going to come from?
  • Remind end users that high-value matters.
  • Remind stakeholders and health and safety officials that the lifting industry matters.
  • COVID-19: celebrate and highlight the successes of industry players.

“GLAD on July 9 will be a very important day for the global Lifting Industry,” said LEEA CEO Ross Moloney. “All too often our industry is hidden, ignored or unrecognised by end users and certainly by some of the supply chains that we serve. GLAD is about getting the whole industry and the associated supply chains to recognise the importance of high standards in lifting, the significance of quality and how to ensure lifting best practice.”

What is LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association)?

Founded in 1944 in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, UK LEEA is globally recognised trade association for all those involved in the design, manufacture, hire, repair, refurbishment, maintenance and use of lifting equipment.

LEEA is the respected and authoritative representative body for our Members who work in every aspect of the industry, from examination, design, manufacture, refurbishment and repair, through to the hire, maintenance and use of lifting equipment.

The association has played a key role in this specialised field for over half a century, from training and standards setting through to health and safety, the provision of technical and legal advice and the development of examination and licensing systems.

LEEA has over 1100 members operating in 85 countries around the world with representation at the highest levels across a range of both public and private bodies, including various government departments, as well as nationally and internationally recognised professional and technical institutions.

LEEA Membership

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association is well known and highly regarded across the globe both within the industry and with end users, who are increasingly expecting LEEA membership from their suppliers.

To become LEEA certified, a company has to go through a thorough application process which includes a face to face technical audit and only after having completed this process, companies are admitted as members of the Association.

At Prolift handling, we are an ISO certified company and proud member of Lifting Equipment Engineers Association. We have beem selling lifting and height safety equipement from a long time now and very well understand the importance of safety standards in this industry.

Prolift supports GLAD 2020 Campaign

We completely agree with message, involved LEEA members and representatives from the wider lifting community are trying to deliver. There is a requisite to make end users aware about what goes on, at the backstage in lifting industry.
